How To Get Free AWS Credits in 2020
When Broadway Lab builds new applications, we usually recommend building on AWS. One thing that may clients of ours are not aware of is how to get free AWS credits. One of the great things about working with AWS is their willingness to partner with customers on projects.
Partnership with AWS takes place in a few ways. One, they can be incredibly helpful by providing Solutions Architect consultations on a project. This professional service guidance is provided at little-to-no cost for qualifying projects. Second, AWS will provide credits for certain projects that meet their criteria.
Customers often do not know that they’re eligible for certain credits. Below are some of the best ways to get credits on AWS.
Brex is an emerging platform for startups to manage their credit cards, payments, and other financial information. Their cards are packed with benefits for startups, including up to $5,000 in AWS credits. If you’re building a new company, it’s certainly worth considering using Brex as a platform.
Product Hunt is a great platform. We’ve had multiple projects featured on Product Hunt, and it can drive early customer adoption when used correctly. Their Ship platform allows startups to claim up to $7,500 in AWS credits. There is a monthly fee for Ship, but the program offers a tremendous amount of benefits to early stage companies.
AWS has partnered with TechSoup Global to provide up to $2,000 per year in AWS credits. For nonprofits, this is a great advantage, and you reap the benefit annually as opposed to once.
AWS Activate is Amazon’s premiere program for startups. Through Activate, startups are eligible for up to $100,000 in AWS credits. Check here to see if your funding institution is an Activate partner.
Work with an AWS Partner
Not eligible for Activate?
If you want to reap the benefits of significant AWS credits, but you aren’t funded by an AWS Activate partner, then there is still another option. Working with a certified AWS Consultant may allow you access to a significant amount of credits. This is a great solution for companies that are emerging startups or existing enterprises that are looking to transition to AWS from another cloud provider or on-premise solution.
